Harry Potter 30 Day Challenge: Day 3

Day 3: Which (if any) of the films have made you angry because they’ve ignored important parts of the book?

They all kind of did, if I’m honest… but I think five, six, and both sevens were the worst.

I can’t even begin to cover everything that was left out of them.

Not without getting angry.

Day 2: Your favorite of the 7 movies.

Every time I put it in, I’m nine years old in a movie theatre seeing it for the first time and almost crying because HOLY SHIT IT’S HARRY POTTER AND IT’S A MOVIE AND I’M HERE AND I’M WATCHING IT.

Also, it’s really very well done. There are a lot of direct quotes, and compared to later films, it really is a pretty good adaptation.

Also, Richard Harris is forever my Dumbledore.

Harry Potter 30 Day Challenge!

Day 1: Your favourite of the 7 books

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I feel like this book is a really big turning-point for the series. It introduces what essentially becomes the final plotline, the horcruxes, and it gives us more insight into Tom Riddle/Voldemort as a person. You kind of come to understand how he came to be what he became. Aside from that, Draco Malfoy gets some serious character development, as well. You see his struggle and his fear. He becomes more than just the stuck-up asshat that Harry hates. He really is a tragic character, and you get to see that here for the first time. This book really highlights the idea that the world isn’t separated into black and white, good or bad, even if Harry doesn’t really see it at first.

Also, it’s real cool.
